What to know
Pensioners do best: the Pensioner Concession Card qualifies for the main electricity concession in every state, and the Energy Supplement is paid with the pension. Self-funded retirees with only a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card qualify in NSW, SA, WA and the NT.
State Seniors Cards rarely count on their own. Queensland is the exception, where the Queensland Seniors Card qualifies for the $399.47 Electricity Rebate. See our guide to typical bills for pensioners.
