About the NT Concession Scheme membership
Unlike other states, the NT does not apply concessions straight from a Centrelink card. You first join the NT Concession Scheme, then use your membership number to claim the electricity concession and others.
You need to be a citizen or permanent resident who has lived in the NT for at least 183 days of the financial year, and receive the Age Pension, Disability Support Pension, Carer Payment or single Parenting Payment, or hold an eligible DVA card.
Membership covers concessions on electricity, water and sewerage, council rates and garbage, driver licence and registration, and spectacles. Members aged 65 and over may also qualify for the NT Seniors Recognition Scheme.

Moving or switching retailer?
Concessions applied by your retailer do not always move with you. When you move house or switch, give your card details to the new retailer and check the next bill. See how to claim a concession.
