How energy rebates work in Tasmania
The Annual Electricity Concession of 184.347 cents a day, about $673 a year, is claimed through your retailer. Medical cooling or heating adds $201.54, and life support users get a daily rate that depends on the device.
Embedded network residents in villages and parks are paid the same concessions directly by the government, and pensioners with very low assets can claim the Heating Allowance. Service Tasmania is on 1300 135 513.
For context, a home using 4,000 kWh a year on the regulated price pays roughly the amounts on our Tasmania electricity rates page. Concessions are taken off that.
