About the Medical Cooling or Heating Concession
From 1 July 2026 the concession is 55.216 cents a day, or $201.54 a year including GST. It applies to your principal place of residence.
Your medical practitioner must certify that the condition requires cooling or heating to manage it. The concession is claimed through your retailer.
In a cold climate like Tasmania's, heating is often the bigger cost. The concession sits alongside the Annual Electricity Concession.
