How energy rebates work in Queensland
The $399.47 Electricity Rebate is open to more card holders than most state rebates, including Queensland Seniors Card holders. Medical cooling and heating adds $522.09 a year, and life support users get a quarterly payment for each machine.
If a crisis leaves you behind on your bill, the Home Energy Emergency Assistance Scheme can pay up to $720 once every two years. Queensland Concession Services is on 13 QGOV (13 74 68).
For context, a home using 4,000 kWh a year on the regulated price pays roughly the amounts on our Queensland electricity rates page. Concessions are taken off that.
