About the Queensland Electricity Rebate
The Electricity Rebate is worth $399.47 a year including GST. On the 2026-27 regulated price for the Energex area, a home using 4,000 kWh a year pays about $1,820, so the rebate covers about 22% of that bill.
Eligibility is broad. As well as pension and health care cards, the Queensland Seniors Card qualifies on its own, which is not the case in most states. The Commonwealth Seniors Health Card and Foster Child Health Care Card do not qualify.
Households with reticulated natural gas can also claim the Reticulated Natural Gas Rebate of $96.45 a year through their gas retailer.
