How energy rebates work in ACT
The $800 Electricity, Gas and Water Rebate is credited daily, with most of it arriving on winter bills, for Pensioner Concession, Health Care and some Veteran Gold card holders. The Life Support Rebate adds $150 a year.
Concession card holders who own their home can also get up to $5,000 towards solar and efficient heating or hot water through the Home Energy Support Program. The ACT Revenue Office is on (02) 6207 0028.
For context, a home using 4,000 kWh a year on the regulated price pays roughly the amounts on our Australian Capital Territory electricity rates page. Concessions are taken off that.
