About the Life Support Rebate

The Life Support Rebate is $150 for 2026-27, credited at about 41.096 cents a day. Only one rebate can be claimed per household, regardless of how many machines are used.

The equipment list is broad: dialysis machines, oxygen concentrators, respirators, CPAP regulators, long-stay life support, nebulisers, TPN devices and others subject to approval. Your energy provider decides eligibility using your doctor's letter.

Concession card holders with a condition needing medical heating or cooling can also claim under a sub-category of this rebate. Home haemodialysis patients can get a separate water rebate of up to $1,200 a year.
