About the NT Electricity Concession
Members can receive up to $1,200 per household each financial year. On Jacana bills, the concession is worked out as $1.274 a day plus 9.1 cents per kWh including GST, so most households use it up gradually over several bills. The cap resets on 1 July.
Prepaid meter users get up to $1,200 as credit, loaded as $600 in late January and July once the annual renewal is done. Registered caravan park residents also qualify.
Solar affects it: if your system covers your usage and your bill is in credit, no concession is paid for that bill.
