What to know

In an embedded network, the site owner or a network operator bills you for power. Many cannot apply a government concession to your bill, so most states pay embedded network residents directly, often into a bank account.

The amounts can differ. NSW pays embedded network customers slightly more, such as $313.50 instead of $285, while Victoria treats embedded network electricity under its Non-mains Energy Concession. Read our guide to embedded networks for your other rights.
