About the Non-mains Energy Concession
The Annual Electricity Concession only works through a normal retailer. Many people buy energy another way: bottled LPG, firewood, heating oil, generator fuel, or electricity from an embedded network in an apartment block, caravan park or retirement village. This concession covers them.
It is paid once a year in bands based on how much you spent on each energy type, from $58 for spending of $100 to $342.99 up to $666 for spending of $3,136 or more in 2026. A separate payment is made for each energy type.
Apply online through the Victorian concessions and allowances portal, which lets you track the application and payment.

- You hold a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card or Veterans' Affairs Gold Card.
- You pay for non-mains energy: LPG, firewood, heating oil, generator fuel, or electricity through an embedded network.
