About the Medical Energy Rebate
Some medical conditions stop the body regulating its temperature, so air conditioning or heating is a health need, not a comfort. The Medical Energy Rebate recognises that with up to $285 a year, or $313.50 in an embedded network.
A registered medical practitioner who has treated the person for at least three months must confirm they meet at least one primary and one secondary qualifying condition. The full list is on the application form.
It can be claimed as well as the Low Income Household Rebate, so an eligible household could receive up to $570 a year between the two.
