About the Thermoregulatory Dysfunction Energy Subsidy
The subsidy is $832, paid once a year in advance. If two eligible people live in the same home, the household can receive two payments.
The patient must meet at least two of three conditions: a medical condition known to worsen in temperature extremes, such as severe spinal cord injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis or familial dysautonomia; loss of skin integrity or sweating capacity, such as burns over 20% of the body; and objective loss of autonomic regulation at temperature extremes.
Some conditions are specifically excluded even though they can be uncomfortable in the heat or cold: arthritis, autism, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, ADHD, fibromyalgia, POTS and psychiatric conditions.

- You hold a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card or Health Care Interim Voucher. The Commonwealth Seniors Health Card does not qualify.
