About the Dependent Child Rebate
The Dependent Child Rebate adds to the Energy Assistance Payment for households with dependent children. From 1 July 2026 it is $396.56 for one child and $103.91 for each additional child.
A concession card family with two children would receive $377.14 plus $396.56 plus $103.91, or $877.61 a year in total, which is about half of a 4,000 kWh year on Synergy's Home Plan A1.
Synergy and Horizon Power customers claim through their retailer. Others claim through RevenueWA, which pays both amounts as a single payment.
