About ATCO Gas Australia
ATCO's Mid-West and South-West gas distribution systems serve Geraldton, Eneabba, Bunbury, Busselton, Harvey, Pinjarra, Kemerton, Capel and greater Perth including Mandurah. WA's Economic Regulation Authority says these networks have more than 12,000 km of pipelines serving over 700,000 homes and businesses.
The WA Government's household gas caps also cover separate distribution systems in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Albany, where Albany's network supplies reticulated LPG rather than natural gas. Check your bill for the network and emergency number that apply to you.
The ERA, not the AER, regulates access to ATCO's network, and the WA Government caps what retailers can charge households on standard contracts.

Connecting, disconnecting and abolishing
New connections and permanent removals are arranged through your retailer, which books the work with ATCO. Under AEMC rules made in December 2025 and 2026, new gas connections and customer-requested abolishments in the networks the rules cover will carry upfront, cost-reflective charges as each network's next access arrangement starts. See disconnecting from gas.
