About the Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS)
Under REPS, the SA Government sets energy productivity targets and the Essential Services Commission of South Australia divides them among energy retailers. Retailers meet them by delivering activities such as discounted air conditioners, water heaters and LED lighting, either themselves or through activity providers.
The second scheme period runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2030, with a focus on helping low-income households. What is available changes over time, so ask your retailer.
Since 1 January 2026, third-party REPS activity providers must belong to an independent dispute resolution scheme, which gives you somewhere to take a complaint.
Who can get it
- South Australian households and businesses, with a focus on low-income households.
- Offers depend on what your retailer or its activity providers are delivering at the time.
How to apply
- Ask your energy retailer which REPS activities and discounts are available.
- If a third-party provider approaches you, check it is working under REPS and get the offer in writing.
How it is paid: As discounted products or installation, delivered by your retailer or an activity provider.
