About the Sungrow SBR
Sungrow is one of the largest inverter makers in the world, and the SBR is its high-voltage home battery. Because it is modular, you can choose a size close to what you need.
It connects on the DC side of a Sungrow SH-RS hybrid inverter, which also runs your solar panels. Homes with another inverter brand would usually need a new hybrid inverter.

What a Sungrow SBR costs
Installers set their own prices, so get quotes. As a benchmark, the Solar Choice Battery Price Index (August 2026 data) puts the average installed price of a 12.8 kWh battery with its own inverter at about $10,381, after the federal discount and including GST. If you already have a Sungrow hybrid inverter, the battery-only price applies, which is lower.
