Solar Homes rebate for owner-occupiers
| Rebate | Up to $1,400 |
|---|---|
| Loan | Optional interest-free loan up to $1,400, repaid monthly over 4 years ($29.17 a month on $1,400). From 1 May 2026 you must opt in when you apply. |
| Who | Owner-occupiers of an existing home, or owners of a home under construction |
| Income | Combined taxable income of all owners under $150,000 a year |
| Property value | Under $3 million |
| Past systems | No previous Solar Homes panel or battery rebate at the address, and no solar panels installed there in the last 10 years |
| Retailer | An authorised Solar Victoria retailer, using products on its eligible lists |
The rebate comes off after the federal STC discount. A standard 6 kW system in Melbourne averaged $5,810 after STCs in October 2026 on the Solar Choice index, so with the full rebate the cost would be about $4,410. See 6 kW system prices.
