About Maxeon Solar Technologies
Maxeon Solar Technologies was spun out of SunPower in 2020 and is headquartered in Singapore. It sells under the SunPower brand outside the US. The US company SunPower Corporation, a separate installer business, filed for bankruptcy in 2024.
In 2022 Maxeon extended its warranty on flagship Maxeon panels to 40 years for product, power and service in select markets including Australia, guaranteeing 88.3% output at 40 years. Its cheaper Performance series, using shingled cells, has shorter terms.

Common questions
Outside the US, SunPower-branded panels are made and sold by Maxeon Solar Technologies. The US installer SunPower Corporation was a separate company.
Flagship Maxeon panels installed on eligible systems from 1 January 2022 carry a 40-year product, power and service warranty in Australia, guaranteeing 88.3% output at 40 years. The Performance series has 25 years.
They make sense on small roofs where you need the most output per panel, or if a very long warranty matters to you. On a large unshaded roof, cheaper panels usually give a faster payback.
