Can you switch away from Jacana Energy?

Jacana Energy supplies most homes in the Northern Territory at prices set by the NT Government. The savings come from the tariff you choose, concessions and how much you use.

Solar feed-in tariff

9.33c at any time, or 18.66c for exports between 3pm and 9pm with a smart meter (Super FiT). At 9.33-18.66c per kWh, using your own solar is worth far more than exporting it, because every kWh you use from your panels saves the full 31.68c usage rate.

How to pay less with Jacana Energy

  1. Claim the NT Electricity Concession

Up to $1,200 a year for members of the NT Concession Scheme. See our concessions guide.

  2. Check your tariff

If you can move usage into cheaper hours, a time-of-use tariff may cost less than the flat rate.

  3. Cut the big loads

Heating, cooling and hot water use the most. Our guide to reducing your bill ranks the changes by what they save.

  4. Ask about hardship help

If you are struggling to pay, Jacana Energy must offer a payment plan. See our hardship guide.
