The AER found Victorian gas use is the highest of any state, more than 50% above the ACT and Tasmania. Winter use is about double spring and almost six times summer, because so many homes heat with gas.
Expect your winter bill to be the biggest by far. If you pay by the quarter, a smoothed monthly payment plan can spread the cost; ask your retailer.
